All aboard for the preview performance of "Men on Boats"

Baltimore Center Stage, on a roll with their bold choices for historically untold stories on stage, brings you Men on Boats (but not actual men on boats). This hilarious play with gender-fluid casting takes on American history we think we know. It's gut-busting and eye-opening.

About The Event

Join us this holiday season for this acclaimed “audience-pleasing” tale of 10 men, four boats and 2 rivers, by playwright, Jaclyn Backhause, with a lesson and a laugh with your new plus-some. #youcansitwithus

Seats are going fast at preview prices!  We'll have to.close sales soon!

Neither anatomically or “politically correct,” Men on Boats, retells, or more specifically, reclaims history, featuring women and non-binary and people of color with a hilarious take on the 1869 expedition of heralded explorer John Wesley Powell’s all-male, all-white team, and their descent of the Colorado River and “discovery” of the Grand Canyon. The actors sometimes play multiple characters, regardless of gender or race, with no male-identifying actors in the cast.

Tag along with us as Baltimore Center Stage takes on an uproarious exploration and adventure that sheds new light on accepted history at a time when society is filling in the blanks on often one-sided accounts of events that tell us how America, in this case, the West, was won.
