About The Event

A Mixolo favorite, the Baltimore-based Afro House Concert Series is a celebration of the city’s extraordinary maker scene. The series features Afro House ensembles (including the Astronaut Symphony), special guests, and local food, beverage and tech makers. This is their 10th concert in the series!

A bridge spanning a gulf between two generations will be crossed on March 21st by upright bassist Ron Patterson, pianist Scott Patterson and drummer Harvell Patrick. The connective tissue that knits these talented musicians together are the sounds of Miles, Blakey, Monk and of course, Patterson! Ron and Scott, father and son, rarely perform together in public. Witness their amazing chemistry as they join Harvell in honoring the influence of jazz greats on their own unique musical journeys.  Stories WILL be told!

Afro House is collaborating with KRYSTAL MACK, Visual & Culinary Artist, Creative Consultant, and Writer, as their featured maker.  Inspired by the bond between Ron and Scott, she will celebrate the act of transferring culture from one generation to another through delectable creations.

The concert will be held in a private home.  Afro House is a trusted host on the Mixolo platform.  You'll want a seat in this house! You will be provided with the location of the concert after you have purchased a ticket(s).

From the moment you step onto the porch you immediately feel at ease. Built-in 1938, over the years, pianists and craftspeople have called it home, making it the perfect setting for intimate events featuring Baltimore’s vibrant arts scene. Nestled within the beautiful tree-lined streets of Hamilton-Lauraville, this charming colonial is home to the 2019 winner of the prestigious Mary Sawyers Imboden Prize, Scott Patterson, and the Afro House Concert Series.
