Time & Location
About The Event
In December 1867, Charles Dickens arrived in New York City to share readings of his beloved holiday classic, A Christmas Carol. Imagine what it could have been like if he traveled to Baltimore as well. Join "Mr. Dickens," in the country home of Johns Hopkins, Clifton Mansion, and be transported back 150 years to be charmed by his performance once again. All proceeds will go toward sustaining the important work of Baltimore Civic Works's community-building efforts in Baltimore.
Mr. Dickens will present the cherished poem A Visit from St. Nicholas, by Clement Clark Moore. After the reading, you can join Mr. Dickens for wassail and mulled wine and light Dickensian holiday fare. You'll want to spend some time roaming through the mansion to enjoy the holiday decorations and numerous themed trees
Mr. Dickens is selfie-friendly. Be sure to capture a photo.
