Apparently the Wharf is where DC meets. Perfect for Mixolo. Washington DC's waterfront city status has been elevated with this mile-long stretch of restaurants, retailers, residences, and businesses with unmatched views of DC's greatest monuments.
New Orleans is coming to DC! Come celebrate Mardi Gras with a community event featuring a spirited parade and floats down Wharf Street, a dance party with live music on District Pier, and a special fireworks finale.
Don't opt out! Come out with Mixolo, with or without a plus-one, and enjoy the Mardi Gras Parade with Mixolo from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM. We'll meet at the iconic H Bar (the future of hotel bars) before the festivities start at 4:00 PM. They end at 7:00 PM) with fireworks.
The Wharf is boasting plenty of activities from ice skating to a s'mores station sponsored by the Washington Capitals (for your inner child, of course). They're offering free samples of winter drinks at The Waterfront Beer and Wine Garden. Or just cozy up to the Camp Wharf fire pit whenever you feel a chill.
We're excited about our "Mixolo Goes Out" events. We have not secured venues for Mixolo events in DC yet, but we're working on it! Rather than spending so much time trying to convince hosts of what we already know, we've decided that it's time to take to the streets and just go out and go with the floats!!
Mixolo will be curating more casual events in cool public spaces. We want to make it easy for you to opt-in to these events and see what Mixolo is all about.
No advance ticket fees! No admission fees when you arrive at our Mixolo Goes Out events. Any food and drink options will be self-pay.
WHERE WE'LL BE:
Hyatt House is situated strategically along the waterfront at the buzzy Wharf location, just three blocks south of the National Mall. Their H Bar is among the new generation of hip hotel bars that welcome the local community and global guests alike. We'll step right outside to see the parade in all its splendor.
3:00 PM Meet your Mixolo plus-some at the Hyatt House at their welcoming H BAR, known for its light bites, handcrafted cocktails, and premium wine and beer.
4:00 PM — Head outside to the Mardi Gras celebration!
6:00 PM — Our Mixolo ambassador's presence at this time will not be guaranteed, but you'll find that many members stay on well past our events after making Mixolo connections.
7:00 PM — The celebration ends at 7:00 PM with Fireworks!!
What's included in my registration?
Please register only if you are interested in attending. We'll communicate by email to registrants on updates to our plans for the evening. Please watch your email closely.
Our "Mixolo Goes Out" community events are meant to foster connection in our growing network of ready-to-to-solos with no entry fee activities. Drinks and snacks are self-pay. New connections, priceless.
There are at least a dozen ways to get to the Wharf. Walk, bike, trains, bus, free Southwest shuttle, water taxi and more. Follow this link for details. https://www.wharfdc.com/getting-here/ We encourage you to leave the car at home or if you drive, reserve your parking with one of the nifty parking garage finder apps or take advantage of park-and-ride at your nearest DC Metro subway station.
Locals can consider ride-share options for a worry-free evening. Street parking will be extremely limited.
Hyatt House offers daily valet parking: $40 per day.
Is this event restricted to Mixolo early adopter members?
Mixolo is organizing our members independent of the Mardi Gras event organizers or H Bar. If you'd like to attend with Mixolo for a shared experience, we ask that you register here with Mixolo in mind as a social network that you will consider joining. We are a network of solo adults pursuing the things we love to do and sharing fun experiences with other like-minded adults. When you register for this event, we will ask for basic identifying information that will automatically qualify you as an early adopter member and subscriber.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
The minimum age for this event will be 18, Mixolo's minimum age for participation. ID will be required, as alcoholic beverages cannot be served to individuals less than 21 years old. Please be prepared to present your state ID or driver’s license upon request.
