Mixolo Goes Out to Light Yards 2019!

Light Yards is a month-long holiday celebration of light at The Yards and returning for its fifth year! Forget silent nights, join us for more bright nights in the city.  The world premiere of the Airship Orchestra, an interactive light installation on the waterfront curated by international award-winning artists, ENESS, is a must-see.  This event is free and open to the public. 

We're excited about our "Mixolo Goes Out" events.  Rather than spending so much time trying to convince hosts of what we already know, we've decided that it's time to take to the streets and just go out.  We want to make it easy for you to opt-in to these events and see what Mixolo is all about.   Mixolo will be curating casual events in cool public spaces where we can gather during the holiday season and beyond. 

No advance ticket fees! No admission fees when you arrive at our Mixolo Goes Out events.   Any food and drink options will be self-pay.  We'll be listing more of these easy-access events for our most patient members in the DC area and NYC this month!

WHERE WE'LL MEET:

Bluejacket features a full-service restaurant, brewery, and bar with an impressive 20 thoughtfully brewed beers on tap at the perfect temperature on any given day.  Their products and ingredients are locally sourced.  Housed in the former Boilermaker Shops originally built in 1919 in the then active Navy Ship Yards, the building is expansive with a warm and modern industrial vibe.  They offer classic beer hall fare and so much more with famed chef Marcelle Afram.

What's included in my registration?

Please register only if you are interested in attending.  We'll communicate by email to registrants on updates to our plans for the evening.  Please watch your email closely. 

 

Our "Mixolo Goes Out" community events are meant to foster connection in our growing network of ready-to-to-solos with no entry fee activities.  Drinks and snacks are self-pay.  New connections, priceless.

Parking/Transporation:

There are at least a dozen ways to get to The Yards.  Walk, bike, trains, bus, free Southwest shuttle, water taxi and more. Follow this link for details:  https://www.theyardsdc.com/visit-explore/#transportation  We encourage you to leave the car at home or, if you drive, reserve your parking with one of the nifty parking garage finder apps or take advantage of park-and-ride at your nearest DC Metro subway station.

Locals may consider ride-share options for a worry-free evening.  Street parking will be extremely limited.  

Is this event restricted to Mixolo early adopter members?

Mixolo is organizing our members independent of the venue.  If you'd like to attend with Mixolo for a shared experience, we ask that you register here with Mixolo in mind as a social network that you will consider joining.  We are a network of solo adults pursuing the things we love to do and sharing fun experiences with other like-minded adults.   When you register for this event, we will ask for basic identifying information that will automatically qualify you as an early adopter member and subscriber.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

The minimum age for this event will be 21, ID will be required, as alcoholic beverages cannot be served to individuals less than 21 years old.   Please be prepared to present your state ID or driver’s license upon request.
