Mixolo Goes out to the Symphony - at the Museum
Time & Location
About The Event
Baltimore Symphony Orchestra presents select Beethoven in a series of free performances this winter and spring. Whether you embrace the importance of having and preserving world-class music and musicians in a city or region or you're curious about one of humanity's most durable and far-reaching music genres, not to mention one of the most beautiful...here's an opportunity to enjoy it for free.
Listening to classical music has enormous proven health and cognitive benefits and is even more enjoyable in a social setting where you can share the experience. So, come out already and join your Mixolo community at the Baltimore Museum of Industry for a cultural treat.
You'll want to arrive at BMI by 6:30PM to ensure seating for the 7:00PM performance.
We'll try our best to accommodate adjacent seating, however, Mixolo is making arrangements independently of the venue and BSO. If you'd like to join us for some happy hour time before, plan to meet us at Little Havana Restaurant at 1325 Key Highway, just one block from the museum, as early as 5:30PM.
MORE ABOUT BSO AND BMI:
Though named Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, BSO is Maryland's orchestra. The internationally acclaimed and Grammy award-winning symphony is embarking on a reinvention for the future and going all the way with music director Maestra Marin Alsop's pledge to make classical music more accessible.
Expect to see BSO pop-up around the city in some interesting places with their selections from arguably, one of the most influential composers of all time. This time, they'll be at the majestic Baltimore Museum of Industry. Baltimore Museum of Industry (BMI) is an important keeper of our industrial legacy and the often unsung worker, rich with archives and artifacts from anchor industries and institutions from the past. Located on a thriving port that once served as a conduit to the world, BMI continues to champion innovation and the entrepreneurial spirit through its exhibits, both interactive and immersive, meant for all ages, and its special programs, events, and community outreach.
Housed in a 1860s oyster cannery on a five-acre, beautiful waterfront campus, BMI now serves as a channel for preserving the history of work and industry and providing inspiration and knowledge for today’s “makers” of creative solutions to the way we live.
Beautiful music and beautiful view. May we seat you now?
