Mount Vernon Foodie Exploration Tour with Bite of Baltimore
Time & Location
About The Event
Bite of Baltimore, the city’s premier food tour purveyor, is expanding to the beautiful, culturally rich district of Mount Vernon and they're taking our adventurous solos on a walking culinary tour on Sunday, August 19. As always, with Mixolo and our solo-friendly hosts, no plus-one required.
Old and new collide in the best possible way as haute meets hot. While Mount Vernon’s history as the epicenter of Baltimore high society shapes its history, Mount Vernon is also one of the city’s cultural melting pots, which Bite of Baltimore highlights in the exciting food options on its tour.
With the many recent mentions of the tony, yet accessible, Mount Vernon as THE place to visit in Baltimore, its friendly, diverse (in every way) residents are quick to point out that they have always loved their neighborhood and believed in its promise.
Like their Fell’s Point tour, the Mount Vernon jaunt includes four food tastes, a signature cocktail and a guided historic walking lecture. Bite of Baltimore is partnering with the Maryland Historical Society on this experience to offer an even more engaging, in-depth experience.
The tour will begin at the Maryland Historical Society, where guests will have about a half an hour to explore the museum, which holds treasures like the original Star-Spangled Banner flag. The food on the tour includes dumplings from Pinch at the hip Mt. Vernon Marketplace; a Turkish meat appetizer at Mediterranean-inspired Cazbar; a pig’s ear bacon bratwurst and a craft cocktail at Hotel Revival’s rooftop bar, Topside, one of the hottest spots in town that has stunning 360-degree views of the city through pent-house level windows; and dessert at the white tablecloth The Elephant.
One might argue that Baltimore’s monumental (pun intended) impact on our nation escapes many who live in the city, not to mention those who observe it from “abroad.” We encourage residents and tourists alike to get to know Baltimore. Walk this way.
What’s included in my ticket price?
Generally, each Bite of Baltimore tour consists of a walking historical lecture, accompanied by a culinary experience in a small district or neighborhood of the city. For our Mount Vernon, tour, we can expect up to (5) local restaurants, four (4) stops that will include food and water, and one will include a signature libation. This tour also includes a museum stop and tour at the Maryland Historical Society where our adventure begins.
The new connections you make: priceless.
