About The Event

CityLit Project is partnering with the Enoch Pratt Free Library for the 17th Annual CityLit Festival on Saturday, March 21, 2020. This year’s daylong observance of literature returns more robust than ever, featuring over 65 poets and writers with 20 sessions, including 30-minute One-on-One Editorial Critique Sessions with seven editors, three 90-minute craft intensives, and a vibrant Literary Marketplace in newly renovated, beautiful Central Hall with exhibitors of small presses, literary journals, arts organizations and members of The Village, a group of key organizations CityLit supports.

Featured guest artists include poetry titan Nikky Finney and novelist Susan Straight. The talented lineup also includes New York Times bestselling author Casey Cep who will discuss “Furious Hours: Murder, Fraud, and the Last Trial of Harper Lee,” Dr. Kay Redfield Jamison, known for her bestselling classic “An Unquiet Mind: A Memoir of Moods and Madness”, will speak candidly about bipolar disorder and her book “Robert Lowell: Setting the River on Fire: A Study of Genius, Mania and Character” and founder of Minorities in Publishing, Jennifer Baker, will talk about industry trends.

The free one-day festival takes place at the Pratt Central Library from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 400 Cathedral Street in Baltimore, Maryland 21201.  Signing up with Mixolo helps us create an amazing community experience for you, with or without a plus-one.

The day ends offsite with an Evening Indigo Salon at Hotel Indigo in the Francis Scott Key Room on the 9th floor at 6:30 pm. We'll also gather at Indigo Hotel's ultra-cool Poets Modern Cocktails and Eats restaurant for more fun. We've listed it as a separate event, in case you'd like to choose this option only.
