About The Event
Join our adventurous solos, with or without a plus-one, for adventurous theater.
Classic theater is now part of a progressive experiment to bring high impact works with low-budget prices for everyone at Baltimore Center Stage. The Third Space is an intimate theater space where creative ideas may be born, incubated, tested or simply shared. Just 5 players in the talented Baltimore Center Stage Mobile Unit Company will take us on an uproarious journey in their performance of Shakespeare’s “perfect” comedy, "Twelfth Night."
This comedy of errors follows twins Viola and Sebastian in a series of love follies that ensue upon a shipwreck and are further complicated by mistaken identities, love triangles and that familiar Shakespeare theme, unrequited love.
Raucous parties and comic subplots, involving sexual confusion, forged letters, and yellow stockings - some likely considered subversive in the 17th century when this play debuted and beyond - heighten the zaniness of this Shakespeare classic while capturing the tragedy of heartbreak in the most profound and relatable way. Social norms and hierarchies are turned upside down in this literal “feast” of the Twelfth NIght.
In the "Mobile" concept, plays are performed up close - and very personal - with the audience surrounding the actors. No set. No backstage. Mobile Unit actors must be consistently aware of the audience.
We’ll gather in the beautiful Deering lounge at 7:30 PM and enjoy a drink included with your ticket. Other snacks and refreshments are available self-pay at the lounge bar.
Come early at 6:45 PM and enjoy a complimentary architectural tour of the impressive Baltimore Center Stage complex. Please email us at email@example.com as soon as possible with your interest.
