We are thrilled to welcome Opera Baltimore (formerly known as Baltimore Concert Opera) to the Mixolo Collective©️. Founded to keep the beauty of opera alive in the Baltimore region, with their unique "concert" performances, La Traviata is their second fully-staged opera, complete with orchestra! Don't hesitate. Their first fully-staged opera in 2022 sold out!
Featuring some of opera's most famous tunes, La Traviata tells the story of Violetta, our heroine, and self-sacrificing courtesan, and her forbidden love with hopeless romantic, Alfredo Germont, also firmly situated in the bourgeois class. Enter Artur, Alfredo's disapproving father., and...
This beautiful Italian opera, considered one of Giuseppe Verdi's s finest, and the "world's most famous opera," takes place in late nineteenth century, Belle Epoque Paris. Perfect for the opera=serious and the opera-curious.
What makes this experience solo-friendly?
For maximum flexibility, you may attend on your own schedule,. Opera Baltimore has offered to provide community space for solo ticket holders. Our solo adventurers, with or without a plus-one, may gather 1/2 hour before the production and during intermission.
Just look for the Mixolo Collective©️ signs! And when you check in, please let them know you are with Mixolo.
Parking :is located in the Glen Garage. Continue past Stephens Hall on York Road, and make a right just before the 7800 York Road Building. The Glen Parking Garage will be on your left.
We're still rebuilding our network. Since Opera Baltimore is opening all shows to Mixolo, there may not always be other solos attending, but we hope you will take the leap. They're solo friendly!
ALL PERFORMANCES WILL BE OPEN TO MIXOLO COLLECTIVE©️ MEMBERS FOR A SHARED EXPERIENCE
We're welcoming back Afro House Baltimore to the Mixolo Collective©️. Their mission: "To create art the disrupts and transforms the human imagination, providing fresh eyes to view both past and present, challenging artist and audience to create a better future."
We couldn't agree more. Afro House was founded by Alisha Patterson and Scott Patterson. Their performance art house platform is a gem, often featuring maestro, Scott Patterson and other gifted and diverse musicians and vocalists. Not to mention dancers, designers, actors, writers, and image makers,,. "Experimentation is the rule, instead of the exception."
From music performances to theatrical works, including the Afrofuturist opera-ballet, Cloud Nebula (Mixolo was there when Afro House was "workshopping" it!), Afro House is always inspiring us to think of what can be - in a safe space and welcoming space. #noplusonerequired
Their events and experiences also create a space for local food, beverage AND tech makers to share their crafts.
