Founded in 1988 by world-renowned cellist, Yo Yo Ma, during the rise of globalism, the Silkroad music collective is a cultural collaboration that fosters connections rather than differences. Named for the ancient network of trade routes formally established during the Han Dynasty of China essentially connecting East to West, it has expanded from creating and presenting new music that celebrates our differences to teacher and musician training workshops, and residency programs in schools, museums, and communities.

During this time, Silkroad is presenting world-class and grammy-winning musicians performing live on Facebook and Instagram.
